Educate for Sustainability
According to UNESCO, education is a basic human right that works to raise men and women out of poverty, level inequalities and ensure sustainable development. We use education to uplift excluded and vulnerable children out of poverty and as a stepping stone to sustainable investment and a better future. Using funds from donors and other donations, we sponsor learners from children’s homes in Nyamira and Kisii counties who cannot afford secondary school and tertiary education. In collaboration with the children’s homes, promising students are identified and sponsored to study in post-primary schools with the pledge to impact another child’s life once they complete their studies.
Girl Empowerment Program
Every year, we recruit about 10 female school dropouts from Nyamira and Kisii counties with the help of chiefs from specific locations in both counties. We partner with experts in life skills to provide these ladies with soft skills, computer skills, decision-making skills, and skills for small-scale business start-ups at our offices or other selected locations. Following that, we sponsor these ladies to pursue courses in fields such as tailoring, hospitality, and mechanics.
Sexual and reproductive Health Education and Rights
We promote awareness and education on sexual and reproductive health among school girls and boys. The organisation provides information on the pertinence of sexual and reproductive health and encourages both girls and boys to adopt healthy and responsible behaviour towards their sexual and reproductive health. Through training sessions for teacher educators, information dissemination in schools, awareness campaigns and counseling services are impacting the sexual and reproductive health of girls and boys in Kisii and Nyamira counties.
Empowering Young Mothers Program
This project aims to provide capacity-building opportunities to young mothers in the counties of Kisii and Nyamira, through life skills training, vocational skills, and business management to help them earn a livelihood for themselves and their families. The program will help young mothers, mostly those who cannot continue with education due to early pregnancies to reintegrate into society, start small businesses, or pursue vocational training. The program also involves mentorship activities to help the young mothers overcome stigma and create conducive environments in their local communities.
